Local Employment Dynamics

The Local Employment Dynamics program is an innovative new state-federal partnership of the U.S. Census Bureau and the Idaho Department of Labor to provide new demographic employment information called Quarterly Workforce Indicators. Local decision makers -employers, workers, transportation agencies, education and training institutions and economic development agencies - need current, local data to make decisions. The new Quarterly Workforce Indicators series provides just that.

On the Map is a mapping tool that can show a variety of options such as where workers live, where they work, how far they commute, how they might get to work, which types of businesses are located where, where new businesses might locate to take advantage of specific worker groups or where new roads should be built or expanded.
The tool is used by many organizations such as businesses, chambers of commerce, economic development agencies, transportation planners and federal, state and local agencies.
