October 2013 Jobs Forecast (Not Seasonally Adjusted)
Jobs in Idaho are expected to decrease in October by 300 from September. This decrease brings total nonfarm jobs 2.3 percent above October 2012. Idaho’s Private sector shed 3,000 jobs overall with the Goods Producing sector increasing by 300 jobs and the Private Service Providing sector decreasing by 3,300 jobs. Government increased by 2,700 jobs.
The Idaho Jobs Forecast reports industry analysis and research conducted by the Idaho Department of Labor, which tracks the month-to-month rate of change in jobs to capture the most accurate jobs total possible for Idaho’s economy. The forecast is revised quarterly with data from the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW), and uses a mix of historical data, regional labor market knowledge and other economic variables contained within and outside the state of Idaho.
